23 to 25th oct 2009
million thanks to yi Sze and her dear for being our tourist guide...
the weighing scale is for luggage but normal lah we saw any interesting thing also will try and take photo..but the scale really accurate...
we reached tawau about 430pm..we spent only about 4omin in flight.. after waiting for awhile, yi sze came and fetched us to her house..after rested for awhile and introduced each other we went2 have dinner at 日月明restaurant...each meal oso delicious...i ordered asam fish rice..
the next morning we had our simple breakfast..then went to shop around tawau town..many boutiques shops there..i bought 1 kebaya nyonya which only cost less than rm30..dress, top and some wedding accessories...
that afternoon we ate chinese soto as our lunch..totally different from what we always eat...the ingredients are su hun (东粉),mihun and egg slice..each bite confirms has egg slices..the souposo very sweet and yummy...
the chinese soto...lots of ingredients inside..
inside the soup...
after that we moved to taman bukit tawau... that is one of the tourism places in tawau...
have to cross this slippery hanging bridge..i really felt dizzy and legs trembling after crossing the bridge although not really high..
four of us...feel glad can get new friends...
waterfall at the other side..
that night we really have seafood feasting home party..yi sze's brother in law brought lots of lobsters, prawns and squids to their house...we really got the good faith 口福 to enjoy all the seafood there..
lobster before cooking..
lobsters after steamed...eat with mayonnaise..thumb up..
steamed ikan bawal putih with onions and mushrooms...fish is really fresh...
home cooked fried squids..the squids are very juicy..one bite will cut the squid into two..not that type of big squids..like chewing gum...have to really chew to tear them apart..just bit too much flour for this..
my favourite popia..with mengkuang, prawns, carrots,gu chai inside...much more yummier than outside stalls..
fresh juicy prawns..
famous wo tie in tawau...
yummy home-cooked curry chicken using deli's chef curry paste..
see the different of lobsters before and after being stripped off...
after seafood party we still sempat to go watch my favourite movie in tawau cinema..'where is the ghost'..kind of scary but really meaningful...full stars for leong's production..
the next morning we went to Tawau tamu to see any special stuffs there..we bought some local kuih-muih and nasi kuning...we shared the experience and exchange opinion on their local food and ours..
delicious egg tarts..
polo pao..inside ingredient is pineapple jam..
my favourite 7 layers agar-agar...
then we went to chinese food stalls to enjoy a famous bihun soup with slice pork...the meal is known as 香底米粉。the bihun is fried covered by a layer of eggs..then there are pork slices on top with sticky kuah..delicious n yummy yummy..
the fried mihun soup..
this is how it looks...
then we went to eastern shopping complex..we didnt shopping that time but went to do pedicure and medicure...feel so sorry for them for waiting us for 3 hours..that lady cheated us..said 1 and half hours can finish..that why we were willing to do..at d end not really nice oso the nail painting..but ok also..only rm38..
the process of pedicure
just want to experience how rich lady live..
then we went to try nasi kuning at 1 malay stall...according to yi sze, nasi kuning is one of the famous food in Tawau..but that stall is not the most famous one..but for us it is tasty enough..cant imagine what is the taste of the most famous nasi kuning.
this is the nasi kuning..with sambal fish or chicken..but the sambal sweeter compared to semenanjung..
one worst thing that i was angry until now is the stupid Airsia delayed the flight to night time...which caused me tak sempat to come back nabawan and have to overnight in KK..damn it...and the number to the tawau airport is no more available..so shit!!!!
but one thing sayang is we tak sempat to step in sempona..hopefully next time we have chance to go sempona and dive into pulau sipadan and mabul...dreaming of it..
