Kud@t during dvali...

18-19 oct

it is always my dream to round the whole Sabah..so even we have 3 days holidays still i was willing to travel to Kudat..thanks saw for her hard work as organizer..it was a nice trip...

one thing bad i have done was i skipped classes...but i have exchanged my class with another teacher with the excuse of having urusan in KK..clever rite?? nana and i went to KK lepak first..we had our lunch in Fu Yuan Kedai Roti..the roti kahwin there is quite famous...but for me is so so only because they didnt serve hot..very pantang if the roti bakar serve cold. then we went 2 1 borneo by the mini one borneo bus..FOC..

the next morning, at about 8 we have departed..had our breakfast in Sri keningau KK..haha..from keningau to KK still have great faith with sri keningau restaurant...then we strat out journey 2 kudat..at d middle of the way, we had a toilet break..out of my expectation, we met firdaus..i was so excited..really really excited that we didnt expect to see him at the roadside, during toilet break..good faith with him right..

then we stopped by the jagung bakar stalls..first time we saw jagung kena bakar hitam..we tried the jagung pulut but i didnt really like it. i prefer jagung manis..that was nice..

these are the jagung bakar..corns in black..

dare to eat??

then we proceeded to honey farm..really out of my expectation,in my imagination, i thought we have to wear like astronaut suit, bring the 'fire extinguisher' and'fire' the bees to get their honey..who knows totally different from what i expect.. entrance fee is RM5..

the entrance

this is the device use to 'smoke' the bees so that they mabuk...

the bottom part,biji-biji 1 are the telur of bees..can be eaten..above is the matured honey...

the artificial bee hive...the bee's house is made of kind of wood..they burn them so that release the smell to attract the bees to build their hive there and made honey..

suck...suck..suck...suck the honey so that i am as sweet as you..

next was the kampung Gong..it is a village which all the villagers are making gong as their main occupation..we went to the hall first..they will be having pesta gong on 24th and 25th which entrance is free plus can watch cultural performance using gong..then we went to a house to watch the man mending the gong surface..then a lady require RM5 for entrance fee..i though the fee is for us to enter a factory to see the making of gong..who knows that house consider as the factory and it cost rm5..well, is ok..as long as i have seen something i have never seen before..

the biggest gong...

hall for the pesta gong..on 24th and 25th oct..

place where they make the gong..

playing the gong music instrument..the jejari of the gong affect the sound..they need to tune it like tuning guitar too..tuning by knocking around the gong..

gong as souvenirs...for small gong the price around rm35 to 50..but i am not interested..

dragon gong..which is more Chinese ish..

that man is paying full attention in mending the gong surface..

after that, we went to long house...there is a name for that village..just i cant memorise the rungus name..it is in the photo..we could overnight at the long house..rm78..including 3 meals, cultural performance and bed with mosquito net..but we felt that bit scary staying in that kind of places..after taking photos, rest there for awhile...we departed to our 4 stars hotel-hotel Marina.

the rungus long house

room in rungus long house...rm78 per night..including 3meals and cultural performance

look at the cane..the people there said if a man wan to marry a girl, he has to release the string from the cane..it is not easy to do that..has a trick there..

once we enter the lobby, we could see the sea view at the balcony...the scenery was fantastic with baby blue sky, dark blue sea, with few yachts parking there...and the blue ish swimming pool..so comfortable and cosy..but the weather...don play-play..i got sunburn in just 1 day without going in the water,...

after rest for awhile,we went to simpang mengayau..the meeting point of sulu sea and south china sea..it was the only place amazed me so much... if people ask me what is interesting about kudat i will only suggest to simpang mengayau..no wonder so many friends highly recommended to go there...

the seaside to simpang mengayau..

path towards the tip of borneo..

see my hairs....our bodies also lost balance..

mengayau is the meeting point of sulu sea and south china sea..

looking at the sunset there is the most romantic moment...

this globe is the landmark of simpang mengayau..

after seeing the sunset in simpang mengayau, it was dinner time. we at first planned to go to kayangan seafood restauarant at esplanaid but unfortunately it was closed..muslim firends went to have their dinner opposite kayangan, while me, saw, nana and the driver had our dinner at the small stall next to kayangan..one word to describe..the seafood there is really cheap and fresh..1 steamed kerapu '7 star'七星斑 , sweet sour prawns, siputs and bitter gourd for4person only cost rm49 with drinks...

fresh and juicy siputs...with chili, kicap and limau..thumb up man..

having our dinner at esplainad...

then daus came to sembang with us..then we went to meet my housemates..i think that time was visit kudat weekend..so many people visited kudat..

then, daus brought us to round round the town and introduce us the town, his house, some famous places and so on..then we went back hotel tidor lo..so tired because never rest well along the journey..

the next day, we went to the biggest tamu in sabah in kota belud..however, because it was not the special tamu there, only 25th oct is the biggest tamu, which we could see orang bajau riding horses and we could ride to take photo...sayang betul..but i bought a pajamas as souvenior..at least i have stepped in the tamu and bought pajamas..

sunrise view from marina resort

we had our lunch at gayang seafood at Tuaran...heard it is a famous places...food were not bad..can enjoy the lake scenery but quite expensive also...after makan makan then we backto kk town and me and nana balik keningau, preparing to go back the next day for the last raya open house..endof this time trip..next would be the tawau trip on next week..huraaayyyyy!!!!
